About BOLO Reports

BOLO?

BOLO is a term Law Enforcement Officers use to spread the word when they are out to catch the crooks and criminals running free harming our communities. The term BOLO stands for:

“Be On Look Out”

Altough immoral Internet Marketers may not be “Legally” tagged as “crooks” or “criminals”, they nevertheless need to be caught and exposed for thier shifty marketing methods. They peddle crappy, overpriced, non-funtional, outdated, and, in some instances, products that don’t even exist!

These “marketers” misinform internet shoppers with shifty sales copy and over-hyped claims on the abilities of the wares they are peddling, knowing that what they are promoting either cannot accomplish the stated outcome, or is going to require the additional purchase of an expensive up-sell item to fully perform the stated task.

It is time to stop these crooks and criminals from leeching both profits and reputations from the moral Internet Marketing community.

Whenever I find these scams and bogus offers I will post the information on this blog under the category BOLO Reports and also publish to my weekly newsletter

“The BOLO Report - Buyers Beware”.

Link Building 101

Building back-links to your website or individual pages is crucial for long-term success in affiliate marketing. It seems every other week or two someone has ‘The’ strategy of all stratigies. Well, the one thing I’ve found to work for my affiliate marekting efforts is this - simply do what natural webmasters and bloggers do. You know, those regular folk out there who simply love spreading information the way the Internet was intended to be in the first place; before we all started seeing the enormous profits one could make from “sharing” infrmation. These folks I am referring to simply spread the word about the information they found to be useful by inserting a link to said information. Not being anywhere near an expert on the subject of link building, I just follow what feels right whenever I come across information and “How-To’s” about link building. Read the rest of this entry »

Customers Won’t Discount Your Dishonesty

A recent coaching session touched upon the growing trend that some marketers have adopted to squeeze out sales from exiting traffic.

In other words, you visit a website and read the salesletter. You decide it’s not for you, so you leave. But when you try leave (either as you close your browser or simply hover your mouse outside of it), the website attempts to make a last-ditch offer. The common practice is to offer a discount, and a recent trend is to make it through virtual sales assistant just before the prospect clicks away from the screen. (Virtual assistant or not, it is no different than a one-time offer appearing in an exit pop-up or spawned browser window once the visitor leaves.)

Affiliate Marketing And Evolution

I found the strangest of post today.  Well not really that strange when you take it in the context of affiliate marketing.  After all, in any form of marketing  / advertising, what really defines strange?

Anyway, this post seems to be from sometime in 2006. The author wrote about bloggers posting too often would hurt the sphere community in the long run.  Well I wonder what he feels about frequent blog post in todays’ blog world where Big G will kick you to the dusty curbs of nowheresville if their bots hit your site and don’t find recent post almost daily.  Then again, that was proven to be a “myth” about all search engines.  In fact the post I’m going to refer you to sits on a blog page with a date of June 2006! Yet it has PR4.  Go figure.  Well I’ll touch more on the SE myths that have been exposed in another post, I just wanted the curious to check out this article and hopefully express some opinion or another on the frequency issue.  Affilaite marketing is a strangebeast indeed.
