I am always looking for ways to build my online business by using all means available. Many Internet Entrepreneurs still don’t believe in the vast monetization potential ‘Blogs’ have over the traditional ‘Website’.

I find the Blog to be my number one affiliate marekting resource for a few reasons but the greatest benefit has been; (besides the fact that Blogs are EXTREMELY EASY to layout and update) They get Indexed By Search Engines FAST. So fast in fact, don’t even start one unless you are ready to publish content worthy of your desired end result. Google will be visiting your blog by way of the built-in ‘ping’ ability within minutes of your first content publish so make sure you give ‘em something worthy of future visits.

Anyway, back to my original intent of this post. With the Blogs relative simple implementation, lots of internet marketing sites are using this platform to promote everything; from clickbank products, ebooks, software scripts, how to start an online business reports and tips, and just about any digital information products you can imagine to produce an online income with. Well here are six great tips I that don’t cost anything and can be applied by anyone. Although I was already aware of two of the six methods which the author, Jennifer Mark, highlights here I had been slacking-off lately and found her article to be a very welcomed reminder to always do ‘something’ towards building your visitor traffic. Hopefully you’ll find her article useful as well.

Method #1: Original, keyword rich contents

The maxim “Content is King” is true and even more so in blogs. Blogs have the ability to be pinged, which attracts the spiders of the search engines to drop in for a visit and index those contents, only and if they are fresh and original. This is where keywords come into play. If your contents are filled with keywords you are targeting at, you will gain favorable rankings in the search engines for those keywords you choose. This will drive traffic from search engines and increase your overall blog traffic.

Method #2: Google Reader

This is the second way to increase blog traffic. When you submit your blog’s RSS to a Google reader, the Google blog reader will read and index your blog. This is a fast way to get onto those search engines! .

Method #3: Social Bookmarking

Submit your blog posts and news stories to social bookmarking sites. Social bookmarking sites like Digg.com, del.icio.us, reddit.com, PostOnFire.com are free web services for online users to share & save their favorite links.

Method #4: Ping Services

If you are not using ping services, you are in for a big loss. Ping services like Pingoat.com or sites such as Ping-o-media are an indispensable tool for every serious blogger. Pinging gets you into the front page of those directories and gets those spider programs scurrying to your site.

Method #5: Comment on other blogs

Visit other blogs relevant to your niche and leave relevant comments on them. Remember that the comments will have to be interesting and informational that tempts other visitors to click on your link back to your own blog.

Method # 6: Offline Marketing

Use your blog address in all offline communications. Insert your blog URL in your business cards, your newsletters, envelopes and if you can afford it, printed ads and even hot air balloons!
